Strauss opened in 1989 with a simple belief: San Diego was ready for better beer, and Karl Strauss Brewing Company was ready to lead the way. That brave spirit still drives us today. As the city’s first craft brewery, we sparked a movement that reshaped the West Coast beer scene. We remain independent, continue to innovate, and stay true to the conviction we started with. Our beer is available throughout California, Arizona, and Nevada, and is poured fresh daily at nine brewpubs across Southern California.
